And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall
Tell ‘em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small
When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she’ll know
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s “off with her head!”
Remember what the dormouse said;
“Feed your head!
Feed your head!”
We are learning about the Psychedelic Era in music studies this semester. An amazingly cool time in history that I already know a little about and so wish that I was apart of. It’s great fun going to Uni, watching the Doors and Hendrix on YouTube while listening to a lecturer who experienced every aspect of this culture and is so passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to music.
Get rid of all the ecstacy and crystal meth that is scarily polluting society, and bring back the acid and sweet mary jane so we can all love one another again.
I am stuck in the wrong era … get me out!
Jefferson Airplane – ‘White Rabbit’
Thanks for the nice comment on my blog!
I’m also totally jealous of your learning about psychodelic culture at uni; your course sounds like it rocks!
